La Plumuda Llegó:
Out Now On All Platforms

November 3, 2022

Plu con Pla’s latest single, La Plumuda Llegó (The Plumuda Arrived), is now available on all digital music platforms! This song pays tribute to Plumuda con Plátano, a traditional Pacific Coast dish and staple of Tumaco's gastronomy, made up of plantains and Plumada - a spiny fish that’s fed thousands of Afro-descendant families - and that serves as a symbol of community strength in the face of hardship.

This third single, created with the help of renowned Colombian music producer Iván Benavides, features a music video directed by Afro-Colombian filmmaker Jhonny Hendrix and tells the story of the band’s creative process: the importance of composing, recording and making music from collective power - as traditional musicians of the region have always done.

The lyrics, a recipe for the preparation of Plumuda con Plátano, take us on a journey through Tumaco’s diversity - rich in culture and gastronomy. Through music, Plu con Pla and the Pacific Coast speak to the world about their resilience, talent and hope.

An accompanying documentary, also titled La Plumuda Llegó and directed by Jhonny Hendrix - serves as an intimate look at Plu con Pla’s music and the process of creating their new album - Pura Actitud. The step by step visual journey shows the group as the family that it is, the musical dynasty they represent through their wisdom, talent and commitment to community, and the hope that lives in their youngest members.
